Cape and Islands Theatre Coalition

The Theater Coalition of Cape Cod strives to strengthen the performing arts venues, organizations, audiences and individual artists of the region and the 22 member theaters work collaboratively to ensure the continued cultural richness of Cape Cod. We love to help organize our guest’s itinerary when staying at Brewster by the Sea and Captain Freeman Inn

After looking through all the events planned at the 22 member theaters, three stood out for me to be offering a great summer season. You can check out the coalition’s web site for a complete calender at capecodlive.org

2. Cape Playhouse- if you love an old fashion musical the playhouse in Dennis is not to be missed. The New York Times said “It’s where Broadway goes to summer!” Combine a 19th century meetinghouse, an extraordinary history, and over 85 seasons of top-notch professional theater and it’s easy to see why the Cape Playhouse is one of the country’s most beloved professional summer theaters.Complete calender can be found http://www.capeplayhouse.com. This summer season includes They’re playing his songs, Sweet Charity, Ballroom with a twist, Hello Dolly, and Radio Gals.

3. The Provincetown Theater- We love P’Town where nothing is normal. Their theater is no exception. Local artists do an extraordinary job in a state of the art facility. Complete calender can be found http://www.provincetowntheater.org This summer’s attractions include: Pornocchio, The Normal Heart, The Tale of the Allergists Wife and in the fall The Tennessee Williams Theater Festival. We have a special attachment to this theater as our innkeeper Sunie from several years ago is now managing this lovely community theater.

Culture is abound on Cape Cod!
